Pavla Čepelíková

It is kind of normal that people are calming down when they become 33. Well I did just the opposite. I lost my mind at that time. It was 2008 when I saw some swirl lentils made of scrap clay in a fashion magazine and it was love at first sight. I was working as a HR manager at thais time so I was building my career through the day and playing with the polymer clay through the night. I had no books or knowledge from classes and the results were very frustrating and terribly ugly. However I always liked to do the creative things, I even studied Garden Sculpture at the Private School of Art Design. After I went on maternity leave I never went back to the office. Farewell my career! Together with my husband (geologist) we have built a small family company with precious stones and I can spend at least half of my time doing my rather alchemistic experiments with polymer clay. For example techniques as Fimo-Boutique, Faux Glass Mosaic, Leaf-Screen-Printing or relaxing Comics technique are only some results of these experiments. If I am not doing any ‘hocus pocus’ I teach my techniques. Well I have to say polymer clay continues to surprise and fascinate me by its endless possibilities.
