Martina Zlatníková

I graduated from the University of Economics in Prague with major in Financial management.

I am married and I have two little sons. I started making jewellery from polymer clay when I was on maternity leave. But I have been told by my family, that I strung beads when I was only two years old. As I got bigger, the beads got smaller. I made animals from beads. When I was a teenager I also made cotton bracelets. It is about three years ago when I discovered a book written by Petra Nemravová. Her jewellery and colour combinations made me so excited that I bought FIMO and made almost all projects from the book without a pasta machine using only a roller. Then I attended her and foreign artists workshops that gave me a lot. Melanie Muir had a huge influence on me, when I saw with my own eyes how perfect piece is made. She taught me that long sanding and buffing has its reason. I was always fascinated by unique and special things. Like every woman, I can’t resist beautiful jewellery. Thanks to polymer clay I can make everything exactly as I want it.
